Shachar

Shachar Dawnhide, a Pearlcatcher who had forsaken her previous life as a chemist (which has caused scarring on her arms and legs, which she now covers) to seek out a new life. Shachar had driven away so many dragons from her life with her incredibly inflated ego, something inherent in Pearlcatchers, and fed up with the effects it had in her life, she decided to focus on a life of piety, and in turn humility. With that modicum of humility, maybe she could become something better than just the haughty scholar she was known for being.

Before becoming a cleric, Shachar was a professional chemist and alchemist, but her skill went to her head very quickly, and combined with her Pearlcatcher Pride, she became an incredibly narcissistic, rude, and horrible to work with individual. Snidely putting down anyone who remotely disagreed with her, she one by one drove off everyone important in her life, her friends, her parents, even her mate and children.
Shachar was alone. With no one but her own overbearing and crude self.
As such, she was fed up with where her life had taken her, analyzing everything that went wrong, and eventually came to the conclusion that the problem was her own arrogance. It was then she decided it was time to change, so she sought out a clerical order to join, where she could hopefully learn to swallow her pride and become a better dragon. Of all the orders, she happened to join the Morning Roses', it was the nearest at the time and they were conveniently not picky about company.
Shachar still practices in chemistry, it's forever her passion, but with her new focus in life, she's dedicated her hobby towards something more helpful than boosting her own confidence. She now uses it to create medicines alongside the herbalism many of her fellow clerics dabble in. Another hobby she's picked up is taking miscellaneous junk and re-purposing them into various nick-knacks, which her shelf is littered in.
Due to her struggle to contain her genetic arrogance, Shachar tends to isolate herself from others to avoid any praise and not have her ego fanned. When she is complemented on anything, she will downplay it as much as possible as to not have it go to her head. This can be a problem for anyone who tries to communicate with her, as she is a naturally talented individual and is making huge strides in overcoming her inner darkness. In general, Shachar goes overboard with anything she does, from tearing herself down to working around the order's den to helping others or creating trinkets and baubles. Often times she'll work herself into a stupor and burn herself out.
Occasionally she will send her trinkets to her estranged children from before her life fell apart, along with letters detailing her apologies time and again. She hopes they accept them, wherever they are.

(her Kitsune companion, Meir, is a reformed burglar caught pilfering from the Morning Roses' treasure stores, though admittedly the clan has struggles saving money and keeping frugal, so there wasn't much to steal. As punishment, he was tasked to undergo community service and grew to rather like it with these dragons, and now apprentices under Shachar to better understand their culture given he's already naturally interested in learning customs of other sentient life forms)
