Maria

Not long before Maria had hatched, his clan had battled an insurgent group that had tried to take down the tyrannical leader. They failed and all rebels were outcast along with their families; any male hatchlings left behind by the rebels were either sold or smashed.

Maria had been the son of one of the outcast. His mother had hidden his gender to conceal his lineage and true identity. even though his mother had hidden his true lineage, as the hatchling to a lowly dragon, life was a lot of hardships and hunger for the young fae. while during a rare instance of playing with the other hatchlings, he saw a flash of blue in the trees and wandered off to see what it was. After a long chase he had finally caught up to see an imperial hatchling.

After an unusual meeting, the two became fast friends, bonding over their simular strife and secrets. Maria and his new friend Gwen would often sneak away to play and forget about the troubles adults pushed onto them and just be them for a moment.

this would all change when one night, Gwen overheard her father talking about the, now large, rebel group's plan to raid the original clan. In an effort to save Maria's life, she snuck into his home and convinced him to leave.

It was two days later, half starved and exhausted, they hid in the only tree they had the energy to climb and fell asleep. late that night, Turi, having newly started her own quest to build a new clan, shook their tree on accident and the two fell in front of her. Turi swiftly claimed them as her new children and swept them further away from their original clan's territory.

Maria's life has vastly improved since joining his new family, Turi and Lori are always doting on him and Gwen. Gabriela has been working on his hunting technique and even Poney takes the time to help him "look within himself to reach his true potential" whatever that means. Everything is going well and Maria can't wait until he grows up and can help keep his new family safe.
