Biography
Varlan is the great-grandchild to the leader of a large distant clan, a powerful nature dragon named Helena. Taking after her reckless father, she decided to strike out on her own at a young age, in the hopes of making a name for herself as a warrior. After traveling alone for a time, she saw Miros fighting to defend his first clutch of eggs. When she found out he was a member of a fledgling clan with no defenders but himself, she decided to join, believing a small upstart clan would be the best way to train and slowly but surely build a reputation for herself as a great warrior.

Varlan is reckless, aggressive, and hot-headed. She can come across as a jerk who only cares about herself, but really she's just competitive, driven, and struggles to communicate. She feels like she'll never prove herself, distant enough from Helena to not have her power and authority but related closely enough to feel like there are high expectations for her. She has low self-confidence and always feels like she's failing someone.

When Saga first came to the clan, the two struck up an unlikely friendship—likely because Varlan was always getting into fights, and Saga was the only healer. Still, she found the calm intelligence of Saga admirable, and found excuses to spend more and more time around her. Both having come here from distant clans hoping to prove themselves, they slowly forged an unbreakable bond. They care for each other deeply. Varlan has romantic feelings for Saga, but hasn't worked up the courage to say so.
