Cheerful yet extremely antisocial, Terrene seems to have no interest in the daily goings-on in the Syl Nadir. He makes for good company when one needs some peace and quiet, but otherwise tends to be timid, and mostly keeps to himself.

No one is quite sure of Terrene’s origin, or how he came to be in the Syl Nadir. He does not seem to know, either. Midnight has made multiple attempts to get him to communicate via writing (as she was quick to realize that he can’t hear a thing), but all she’s ever received is a stubborn shake of his head.

While one would not call it a job, Terrene works in the clan’s greenhouse, nestled high above the forest floor in the boughs of several sturdy trees. He runs the building from top to bottom, knowing the perfect place for each plant and always keeping a close eye on the health of the soil. He waters each plant by hand every day—the construction team tried to convince him to let them handle the irrigation system, but a few stubborn shakes of his head was all it took to drive them away from the idea. Still, Pigeon is often seen bouncing into the greenhouse to spend quiet, patient hours with him, watching the plants; it seems to be the only time that the pearlcatcher will let her sister out of her sight.
