previous owner lore:
Sylva was a bright hatchling, the only one of the first clutch her parents had. But she was born into a dark world. Her parents, though careful, were passive, and due to their indecisive nature, her growth was stunted by many angry encounters on the edge of the emberglow with other flights. On one side, the Windsinger's domain was near, but the dragons at the edge disliked Sylva -she would not do well to be near the skies so young an age and not born with the wind, so she was unwelcome. The other side was the desolate workings of the Stormcatcher, where she often got shocked by lightning as she wandered in search of family- after about the fifth time she was caught playing by the spires, they warned her not to return, which they said nicely, but Sylva grew sad nonetheless. Behind the emberglow, she would dangle her toes in the Tidelord's waters, often using her snout to pick apart oysters on the shore, but he did not appreciate a fire-born on his shores, and his underlings would often attempt to drown her by making large waves crash down upon her. With nowhere left to turn, she gazed upon the distant Ice fields, wanting ever so much to find a place for herself. When she became an adolescent, she flew out to the Icewarden, and pleaded to be of his accompaniment. He knew that what she was looking for, he could not provide, and sent her away. Heartbroken, that she had come so far, and yet was no where closer to finding home, she panicked, and flew. Flew and flew and flew, til her wings couldn't beat anymore and her eyes couldn't see. She fell, but she had passed out before that. A few hours later, she was washed ashore near the Blacksand Annex, where she was found by her grandfather, Onyx, while he was out hunting for seafood. He recognized her right away, and carefully carried her back home. When she awoke, she saw all of her clan around her, tending to her wounds, except her parents. "Where...?" "Shhh, little one." Said Ash. "I am the matron of the fire clan that you were born into- I am the start of the line where you come from. Your parents, with only having one egg, raised you on the edges of the Ashfall Waste, embarrassed to not being as fertile as other mates in my clan. What they did was a mistake, for we love all dragons here- not just fire, but water and ice and plague- and particularly, our own." Ash nuzzled Sylva gently. "There is one thing you need to know, though. On your recent trip, we heard from your parents that you have returned with a new pattern on your scales than they have seen. I think it suits you, but that is only for you to tell." Sylva blinked, slowly standing, looking to see glimmering shine on her scales that accented her darker blue. She felt new, renewed. Her family was right in front of her, the whole time! And her new skin, her new detail, it helped shine through her old self, her happiness showing. "I'm... I'm home!" She exclaimed, finally happy to be where her heart has always longed.
