Anvindr

Anvindr (or Andy for short) grew up in his parents' curio shop, surrounded by relics from across Sornieth. He constantly daydreamed about the far off places they had come from. He was fascinated by the cultures of other flights, but never got the chance to travel until the time came for his Search. He spent many years exploring, but never felt drawn to any particular place, eagerly learning about one flight and rushing on to the next. Discouraged, he finally returned home, and was struck by the beauty of Cloudsong's floating structures. Filled with inspiration, he commissioned an airship to use as a research vessel. Upon meeting an unusual Mirror dragon raised by Tannok, he offered to share his accumulated knowledge of the dragons of Sornieth in exchange for her own knowledge of Beastclan. He now had a first mate, and knew the airship Alliance would be his charge. Together they traversed Sornieth, gradually recruiting more dragons to their eclectic crew of researchers and travelers, helping people and resolving disputes along the way. Anvindr quietly hopes that together, they can restore peace to the dragon clans...

Anvindr is formally the Captain and manages the ship. He prefers democracy regarding clan issues such as gathering food, where to go next, etc. He mostly studies social and cultural traditions, but is also interested in archaeology, botany, and magic studies. He tends to obsess over his research, and Betlinde often has to drag him out of his crew quarters to get him to pay attention to his captain duties. Despite his obliviousness, he is affable and great at keeping the peace.

His name means "against the wind".
