Lurker

Lurking beneath the murky waters of the swamp, something is waiting. Something is churning the muck. For a split second, a flash of a yellow eye is visible, then gone again, blending indistinguishably with its surroundings.

Take great caution in this swamp. Look over your shoulder and back down at the path ahead of you. Now over your shoulder again. Oh, snap, too slow! She's got another meal. Your last moment of vision is of the muddy water closing around your head in an explosion of bubbles. You never even see your attacker.

We call her the Lurker. Rarely does she emerge fully. Well, that may not entirely be factual... a more precise statement would be, "Rarely do those alive report sightings of her out of the water." Who knows, she may be running through the woods every day. We're not too keen to find out, honestly.

We're cool over here, thanks.

Our expert tour guides would suggest giving that patch of bogland a real wiiiiiiide berth. Flying over is certainly an option, if you wanna brave those other fellows who lurk in the tree tops. That's a whole other story.

Unless, of course, you'd like to go straight through the swamp. An express trip, if you will. It's possible, but, well, naturally... there would be a steep fee. Just to cover all our lives, of course. It's no easy business navigating this here swamp with the Lurker around.

What's that behind you?

Naw, I'm just kidding. Good old tour guide jokes. But you know what's not a tour guide joke? The Lurker. She's out there, for sure!

And... hey, who knows... you could maybe get a picture with her if you cough up a little extra treasure.

Deluxe package right there. Don't see that every day.
