Redshade

Beware Redshade, a dragon who is bright, cheerful and happy, but hides a dark, menacing dragon inside. Wrong her and you shall feel the sting of her magic and the bite of her familiar.

Redshade is the founder of her clan and has made sure her and her dragons are able to face any hardship. A while ago, her first mate, Foxtail, died horribly in a magic accident with a plague dragon. (Redshade has hated plague dragons since and battles them whenever possible.) The clan suffered, as Redshade was too busy mourning the loss to lead them into battle or keep them fed. But they've toughed through, and now both the dragons and Redshade herself are on their way to recovery.

All that remains of Foxtail is the three children they had before he died- Darkrose, Rustwing and a tundra dragon who remains unnamed and is currently serving under the great Gladeskeeper. All make their mother proud, and along with her familiar, (a bamboo phytocat whom she calls "leafy,") and other dragons in the clan, they all help her be strong and move on. She has a second mate now, a dragon named Morpho.
