It was expected from the start that Whirlwind would be active. A wind spiral was expected to be full of energy and the urge to travel. No one expected the new hatchling to have the ability to make portals through breezes.

It happened unexpectedly one day when the little one was playing. Whirl wanted to get to the other side of the clearing and touch home base before the dragon who was 'it' got him. He was startled by his pursuer just as he started to run, and next thing he knew a rip in the sky appeared before him and he was pulled into it.

Luckily the breeze at that time was a gentle one that was confined to a small area. Whirlwind only ended up about half a mile from home. But with carefully watched experiments and tests, it was determined that the little one could open a portal at one end and pop out anywhere the current of air is touching, no matter how far... including the massive currents of air that travel the globe.

To say he has been known to get into trouble not knowing where he'd come out and ending up in a scrape is a bit of an understatement. But since Whirlwind has come to Chaotic Daydreams to study with Fisaga, he is learning more and more control.

In between lessons, the spiral takes care of his pets. Unlike most wind dragons, Whirlwind really likes birds. He's constantly adopting and rescuing birds he finds on his travels and his part of the lair is always filled with the sounds of song.
