Aurore was once a proud warrior within the Shadows, ruthless and elegant with his shadowkinesis abilities. It was only after he was granted honorable discharge that he found out that he has been suffering from severe shell-shock this whole time. Turns out, its not normal to summon prosthetics made of darkness to combat trauma induced paralysis!
Aurore took his retirement with an old friend he has fought alongside plenty of times. Captain Wonderous was happy to let this old solider lean on her and give unwanted but genuinely helpful advice on the Mercenary Guild's tactics. Even if he is also grumpy and annoying. (Wonderous really needs to examine why all her meaningful friendships follow that pattern.)
