Kai

Dare:
Kai is a very worldly dragon, have traversed across its many nations time and time again. True to his Wind origin, he follows wherever the breeze takes him, a nomad to the very core. He spreads news upon his routes, words upon the wind, before continuing onwards. But he wasn't always this way.

As a hatchling, Kai was actually afraid to fly. No matter how many times he was pushed off the Zephyr Steppes by his mother, all he would do is fall and thud on the steppe below rather than taking off like his siblings and peers. He would watch their success with fearful eyes and scuttle for cover underneath his mother's dark wing, muttering about he wished he were an Earth dragon.

It wasn't until his father returned from a long voyage that his interest was peaked, the Wildclaw having filled his bag with tons of trinkets and treasures from around the world. Kai was amazed by some of them, especially a small gizmo that his father explained came from the Shifting Expanse; it took the shape of a mechanical Fae and sparked on occasion. Intrigued, Kai wanted to see more, and his father only chuckled; Kai could see these and much more, he had explained to his son, if he flew.

So Kai practice, and he toiled, until eventually he managed to stay airborne. His father simply chuckled and nodded, taking the sedge hat from his head and placing it atop of Kai's, the item covering his eyes momentarily due to how large it was. He had earned this, his father muttered before turning and flying off into the sunset, Kai right behind him, his mother waving goodbye and good luck.

He has been flying ever since.
