All these are things which Ranger is. Together with his heart-mate Spirit, Ranger is the face is the face of the clan. They are the ones who deal with visitors and outsiders, and most often are the ones to bring in from the cold the wandering dragons who eventually come to call the clan home.
Though he hails from a light tribe, Ranger has been within the clan since his youngest days and though the scents of his birthparents remain etched firmly in his mind, the clan are his family far more than the one who birthed him. Within the clan he not only has family, but love as well. Though other many consider it wrong for a male dragon to bond so strongly to another male, Ranger and Spirit are as inseparable a pair as any male-female mated pair might be. Perhaps, in time, they might find a female willing to become part of their bonding, but for now both are happy just with each other, and with looking after the clan's younglings as a whole rather than having young ones of their own.
