Mune is a fellow of… mysterious origin. Born from the shadows that coated his home like fur, the young tundra would spend each waking hour watching the stars, occasionally accompanied by a red and green tundra who called herself Leafheart. She once asked why he was so obsessed with them, to which he answered that a thousand bright lights in the sky was amazing in their dimly lit world. Despite living alone and having no parents to raise them, Mune and Leafheart lived happily. Mune would stay at his spot and stargaze, while Leafheart would explore the Tangled Wood and bring back food and trinkets when she visited him. Their love for each other was more familial than romantic, unlike many progenitors.
On the fifth night of his life, Mune saw something that was too bright to be an ordinary star. It got brighter and brighter, causing the young shadowling to panic when he realized it was getting closer. Before he could run, the earth was struck, and from the collision, a brilliant explosion of darkness and luminance. Light and Shadow energies acting as one, joined by an otherworldly power unknown even to the Shade at the time, spread through the air and rooted themselves into the ground. Mune did not merge with them, but instead glowed with an energy of transformation. Violet horns grew from his head, dull blue runes telling the tale of his childhood were inscribed into his fur, and throughout his body his most prominent memory was reflected: The night sky.
Quivering with terror and confusion, Mune ran away for the very first time, opting to find the one he’d taken as his sister. He met up with Leafheart under a log and cried out that a star had fallen from the sky and hit him. Leafheart, surprised by his changed appearance, consoled him and told him that it hadn’t harmed him, but made him beautiful. After a short period of crying and comfort, the two agreed to investigate the crash site and find out what exactly had just happened. There, they met an entity whose likeness and powers had never graced Sornieth's surface until now. It quickly shape-shifted into a sprite to hide its identity from its witnesses, but its oddity was still obvious, as it was both a Light and Shadow sprite.
Over time, Mune, Leafheart, and the alien who had begun calling herself Pixie decided to set up camp around the resulting crater to be sure no other clans discovered Pixie's magic. Dragons from all over were drawn to the energy, however, and Mune offered them a home so long as they agreed to keep the secret. One of these dragons was a nameless Water tundra who had starry wings and runes like Mune's. Enamored, he called her Stars, and began to court her. During their proceedings, they had a nest of three, who left to fight for the Shadowbinder before they were even named. Troubled by this, the couple consulted Pixie, who offered to find a unique name for every hatchling that entered the clan, that way they would at least have an identity before being exalted. This gave Mune and Stars some peace of mind, and they officially declared themselves mates not long after. To seem less suspicious to outside clans, Mune decided to name the new clan after the naming schemes that they used for their children at the time. Such, Moonfire's Clan earned its name, and is still called such to this day.
