Hygieia holds the important role of being Rimehaven's messenger. Her small size allows her to quickly maneuver about to get to the right person. She keeps a small satchel of bugs on her in order to keep her energy up throughout the day. In addition to sending letters across Rimehaven, Hygieia occasionally will take trips across Sornieth to deliver important messages to clan leaders. Hygieia is very good at giving advice, and she is a very close friend and confidant to both Queen Regina and Guildleader Lyani.

While delivering messages to the Noodle Clan, an allied clan from the Arcane Flight, Hygieia met the coatl Caelum. The two hit it off from the start, and soon they would start to write letters to each other just to give Hygieia an excuse to visit the Noodle Clan more frequently. When Elsan and Regina realized why Hygieia was spending so much time delivering messages to the Noodle Clan, they had Caelum become an ambassador for his clan and move to Rimehaven. When she isn't working, Hygieia spends much of her time with Caelum and their son Zhiadrel.
