Xue at first impression is a dragon one would not want to mess with, stoic in expression, imposing, almost ethereal in the way she carriers herself. Though, dragons who stop to speak with the ruddy colored guardian when they encounter her find that conversations spill out as naturally as one breathes or blinks. Xue travels Sorenith, setting up tents in various markets and towns she visits, and though the ground around her is covered in blankets and pillows topped with books, the volumes are very seldom touched.
“Care to be a listening ear?” she beckons out with a serene, honeyed tone, gesturing passerby to join her in the tent. “Or do you have a tale of your own to share?”
Xue’s charge is not dragon, nor beastclan, or creature. Her charge are stories. Not alive in the traditional sense, but still living and evolving as they pass from one dragon to the next. Having an autobiographical memory, she never seems to forget a single story told to her- whether it be a long fantastical tale of seldom recalled explorers, the ramblings of an excited hatchling, or the frustrated telling of one Spiral’s horrible, no good, very bad day.

These stories she gets the permissions to share, and carries on in her travels around the continent, fascinating dragons with hundreds, even thousands of yarns she can spin, and absorbing as many different stories as she can. Xue does have a home hidden in the Worldedge wetlands that she returns to, sharing it with Nexus, an imperial who is a scribe by nature. Nexus helps her mission to preserve and pass along her host of stories by spending hours listening to her words, deftly copying them down on page after page. Some of these books are then made in copies, and selling these copies allows Xue to fund and continue her consistent travel of Soreniths many clans and settlements- though most still prefer to hear the enclosed writing read aloud by the guardian herself.

Many dragons believe that Xue and Nexus are responsible for the majority if not all of the contents of Crossroads Library over their years of work, and many more joke that they’ve rarely seen either rest, believing the two to simply be Snappers in disguise. When asked, Xue simply chuckles at the notion, and never gives a completely direct answer- thinking the rumor is quite amusing.
