cautious / gentle / modest "Hello, new friend! Look, I got this new strain of flesh-eating fungi and you look like a perfect candidate for testing! Hey, where are you going... ?" The air was damp and sticky and carried the sweet stench of something rotten. Total darkness all around, except for the dim orange glow of the moss that covered the ceiling. Somewhere in the tunnel water dripped down. Somewhere deeper a dragon screamed. Chevalix smiled softly at the sound and slithered between the mushrooms of his small but ever-growing garden; breathing in the highly contagious spores of his newest creation and listened to the ripping, cracking and crying from the lower levels of the cavern. He would go looking for leftovers later.
