Biography
Since Maelgad remembers, she possessed a strange ability of forecasting.
Since she was born, her eyes contained an unknown depth, unseen in other hatchlings. Her eyes were forever empty, blank - but fortunately, that odd ailment didn't stop her parents from loving her dearly.
Maelgad had a good childhood. Surrounded by love and care of her parents, she was never alone. She even had few close friends who weren’t bothered by her unspeakable gaze. After all, she was just a normal person like the others - until her potential showed up.
That night she slept so deeply than even thunder raging outside didn’t wake her up. She was dreaming - about past, present and future. She was jumping on strings of memories, reminding herself of her closest friends and family. She read the past like a book, she didn’t really pay attention to the present - but future scared her.
She woke up few hours later, an elder dragon sitting by her bed. And she wasn’t even surprised to hear that her parents died to a lightning strike past night.
Of course, she mourned her lose. Who knows what woud happen further if not her friends who were there to support her the whole time.
With passing time, she bottled. She became quiet, exchanging words only with her closest companions. They didn’t mind tho, they knew she needed space.
Only then, she started to think about her visions. Each time she found herself in the land of dreams, it felt so real, but at the same time she knew it’s just an illusion created by her brain. But was it really? Sometimes, her dreams mixed with reality, and she couldn’t stop to feel uncomfortable whenever she knew what was going to happen next. Finally, she understood what kind of gift she received.
She decided to keep it as a secret, only sharing it with her friends who cried with her upon the death of her parents. She understood dangers of the world she lived in and she already predicted that someone might try to take advantage of her powers. She was aware and distant, unwilling to speak to newcomers. Only when she foresaw that something bad was going to happen, she would gently wrap it into suggestion, trying to sound like she was just guessing. She would speak of the future straight forward only to her friends.
Time for side hobbies and habits. She writes down every dream she has, no matter if she wakes up in the middle of the night or in the late morning. Her daily routine starts with grabbing a notebook and noting down every detail she remembers, sometimes even attaching some messy doodles for a better picture.
As for a hobby, she collects all kinda of gemstones. She likes to stare at the dimply shining crystals, claiming that they look almost the same as her own eyes. She can tell that there’s something hidden in that shine, but she can’t tell what.
Just as the gemstones carefully set on shelves, her eyes are going to stay a forever mystery as well.
