Redstone is an older drake, having wandered Sornieth in search of his charge for quite some time. In between his periods of travel, he often settles down with a clan or other group and helps with any of various tasks; earning the wages with which he'll subside off of once he decides to take up his Search again. His current occupation is with the mining team of Voltbreak Heights, having been hired on after stopping to rest with the clan as he traveled across the Shifting Expanse.

After spending some time at Voltbreak, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the Dustcarve Dig site in Earth, certain at last that his charge is to be found there. He and the Earth courier Fulgurite travel to Dragonhome to lend a paw with the work effort, and to track down Redstone's charge. Amity, a newly awakened Obelisk, crosses paths with the two as she and her kin emerge from the tunnels. Turns out she's the one Redstone's been looking for this entire time. With his Search completed, he decides to return home to Voltbreak Heights permanently; with no place to call home and a duty to protect the dragons of Sornieth from a mysterious threat, Amity accompanies him.

Despite being a Plague dragon, his mutated Keel scales are capable of collecting and conducting latent Lightning magic; something that he finds odd, but ultimately useful, as he uses the shed scales as a power core for his scout automaton.
