Siris is a dragon much too refined to be part of the Rest's shadowy underside, at least at first glance. A graceful Wildclaw adorned in golden jewelry and wreathed in smoke, he seems like he would be right at home among high society. And he would, if not for his criminal reputation. For what it's worth, it's organized crime, but crime nonetheless. Originally from Murkbarrow Close, Siris built a name for himself as a merchant dealing in luxuries imported from Terraclae and further abroad. But this enterprise quickly bored him, and so he left the Tangled Wood to find prospects in other territories. After setting up connections in both Lanternlea Port and Goldensparc, Siris stopped at Traveler's Rest on his way to the Great Furnace. He met with the First Five, hoping to secure another trade deal, and instead got more than he bargained for in the new post of Finance Minister. Siris quickly used this new power and the naivety of the Rest's leadership to set up a system of embezzlement and smuggling, raking in more money than ever before. He abandoned his plans to leave for the Great Furnace altogether, and settled in for a life of luxury in the Rest. This grand vision would quickly be ruined by the arrival of Detective Blackwood, who had come to the Rest investigating one of his smuggling partners. The wolf quickly dug up all of Siris's shady dealings, and he was put on trial before the First Five, who sentenced him to exile. This punishment literally did not work at all. Siris continues to live in the Rest, and keeps up his smuggling operation, albeit at a much smaller scale than he used to. He spends most of his time at the Seven Spades meeting with clients, antagonizing Eclipse, and flirting heavily with Vincent. |
