Matachin hails from the Icewarden's territory and doesn't much like the summer. She frequently complains about her coat being too thick, and will take any opportunity to go swimming that presents itself. Her skill with magical illusions is unusually good and she trains regularly with Nox, the foremost mage of the clan, to further discipline and improve her skill. She seems to have fled her prior clan in terrible fear of something, though she doesn't seem comfortable enough to tell anybody just what it is.

Time with the clan has made her some friends, though, and she is quite popular for her innate talents with nature magics. Despite her affinity for her homeland's elemental qualities, Matachin is a druid by birth, and gifted with the ability to 'speak' to plants. This manifests not as any vocal manipulation, but some kind of use of arcane energies to commune with plant life and even sometimes move it. She often volunteers to assist when the clan sends out parties to forage, since her ability helps in clearing a safe path while protecting thornier plants from being torn up in a frenzy.
