Phalanx came into the clan with the goal of learning more about dragonkind, and that is what he did. He learned about the relationships between the other dragons, how they acted towards their superiors in contrast to their subordinates. He learned about the way hatchlings were treated by their parents, and the way hatchlings were treated by their mentors and non-family members amongst the clan. Phalanx learned about the means of communication between dragons, and the ways they used this communication to work together and support their clan. He wanted to learn about dragonkind, and learn he did. He studied bones and diagrams from ancient, deceased dragons until he had pages and pages of writing on how the body worked, and how everything fit together in order to make a perfect ecosystem inside of every living being. When a dragon that was a part of the clan died, Phalanx, knowing the most about internal dragon anatomy, volunteered to prep the dragon for the funeral. Phalanx learned of dragons, but he also spent day after day hidden in brush just outside where the rest of the clan was staying in order to observe and watch other animals scamper around. He watched how they interacted and lived too, and when one died, he would take in their body and learn how their body worked, how their bones fit together, how everything worked. Phalanx spent day in and day out learning about living beings, even going so far as to hunt on occasion for extra anatomy study. This was his focus, this was what everyone knew him for. |
