African Zulu name meaning 'blood'

Whenever I find myself idly scrolling through the forums or tumblr and see a dragon I like, I save it to my "Projects" folder. Sometimes the only thing I like is one specific gene and colour combo, but that's all it takes for me to get inspired to play around in the Scrying Workshop and build up a new dream dragon project. And that's what happened with Gazini; I thought- and still think- Peach Jaguar looks pretty frickin' good!

It was the perfect chance to experiment with Banescale's unique genes as well as genes that were new to me post-hiatus, and I had a lot of fun figuring out all the little particulars to make a satisfying mix of textures and colours. I'm just so glad I was able to buy Gazini outright and didn't have to breed for Peach/Maroon/Blood, because I am extremely picky and never compromise with "close enoughs" even if some of those deep desaturated reds are basically indistinguishable from each other nine times out of ten. It had to be Peach/Maroon/Blood okay? Otherwise I wouldn't have the peachy tones on the wings and the reddish-browns on the spines! Gosh!
