Biography
Flitting gaily among the tiger lilies, Kieran made it his duty to wake the other dragon fairies. Not only to wake them, he made sure to trill so beautifully that rather than yawn like other creatures did, minds bogged in the lethargy of residual sleep, the fae of his garden opened their mouths with song. Their chirruping chorus warmed the garden much more quickly than the patient touch of early morning sunlight.
————————————————
Sunlight glinted greenly through the wings of a tiny creature that flitted among the sleepy, half-openned flowers. The prismatic glints that mirrored the creature’s movements gave the illusion of there being many spritely forms passing over the meadow. But this creature that alighted from spring buds to have them instantly burst into full bloom, was alone.
Upon closer inspection, the creature which many mistook to be a fairy, was a diminutive little dragon. Fairy dragons were not as abundant in recent years and were often misremembered as plain fairies, which were still a plentiful species in this simple land. This little fairy dragon went about his business wholly devoid of the air of business or the lonesome state that some might be attempted to attribute to him.
His movements were full of the joy of a beautiful, warm spring morning. He stopped here and there to sip dew from a delicate petal, and then his enthusiasm would be renewed. There was some illusion of childish fancy about the equal simplicity and determination that characterized this minute and insignificant existence, to such an extent that it became difficult to imagine any man or beast being capable of doing it harm. Difficult, was the word - not impossible, for even now a shadow passed briefly over the nearby poppies which the creature had left, a shadow that the creature showed no sign of having noticed. The fairy dragon attended to the flowers, aiding them in casting off their sleep, and the shadow passed over again, and then again, touching nearby flowers. Still the fairy dragon appeared oblivious or at least unconcerned by the presence.
