A small, sage-winged hatchling had lived in a peaceful marsh near the Foxfire Bramble years ago. Her village - Blackberry Hamlet - was a peaceful settlement. They were a liked community of the finest and most intelligent dragons around. They would never flaunt their abilities - no, they would embrace them for the good of others. The dragon's name was Greenwing. She had her whole life planned out perfectly - there couldn't possibly be anything that could stop her... right?

Blood splattered her claws. Greenwing's village had been corrupted by an evil, unforeseen entity. Her once-peaceful home had been consumed by a grotesque fungus. It writhed beneath the cracks of mud in her marsh - decimating anything it touched. The nauseous smell drove the dragons insane. No matter how many rituals, how many sacrifices made to the Shadowbinder, she would never be able to cease the fungus. They begged to the Plaguebringer to leave their home alone, but to no avail. The Plaguebringer wasn't the cause of this. Something more sinister was squeezing through the thick, twisted thorns. Long, thin mushrooms were sprouting on the necks of Greenwing's neighbours. They turned into vicious, rabid monsters that lusted for the taste of blood dripping off their fangs. The fungi had found new hosts to conquer. When Greenwing's parents had eventually succumbed to the deadly infection, Greenwing was ready to run away. She ran as far as she could, where no soul could have ever heard of her. She was too ashamed to look at her old dilapidated home. Greenwing is now known as Nin, a shortened form of a name she wanted to so desperately forget. But now, as she is back in the Tangled Wood, Nin realized... there are no villages near the Foxfire Bramble. Was she dreaming this whole time?
