Nys spent years rigorously training under Zandali in order to safely balance and harness both her Plague and Light sides. When she was finally confident in herself and her abilities, she was approached by Zandali and informed that the Lightweaver had chosen her to be Kemsib's mate, a devout member of the Pillars of Light. Honored despite never having much of a desire to nest, she was escorted to the neighboring cult shortly after to meet Kemsib and consummate their union.

To her surprise, their very first clutch contained a child with blindingly bright eyes, and her anxieties about whether or not she was the right fit for such a responsibility dissolved.
