The young spiral sighed, bored to bits in her home within the Viridian Labyrinth. It was the same old here. Nothing but plants for miles. She wanted to explore! Use the gift the Gladekeeper gave her to discover hidden treasures never seen before! She wanted to use her Evergreen to search the cold of the Sothern Icefields! But she was stuck here. Halfway across the world from her dream. So, she left. Snuck away from her parents and away from her home. It would be the last time she saw it. It took a while to get there. Many a time she had almost been killed. Most incidents were not her fault. Some were. But again and again she thrived, determined to seek out the unknown. When she finally got to her destination, she was nearly an adult. The Evergreen kept her alive. It allowed her to survive in freezing temperatures without the need of heat. She could scout the coldest of places, places that even a ice dragon could not stand. And because she was a spiral, she could squeeze herself into the smallest of cracks, inspecting every nook and cranny. She abused this power, childishly believed that it had no limits. And she was wrong, as most careless dragons are. |
It was a small crack in an iceberg. The blizzard wind whipped at the spiral, though that couldn't force her to look back. She slipped herself into the crevice, as surly there would be something there. It was were no one would look, a place cleverly hidden far past the Fortress of Ends. A perfect place to hide remnants long lost to the cruel mistress of time and cold. She found herself within a cave of ice. The frozen chamber echoed each step she made. The clicks on the glassy surface did little to cover up her heart beating in her ears. It's eyrie noise made the spooky glow of the ice even more hair raising. She moved deeper into the cave. But, she found nothing. Just the unnerving reflection of her form. The iceberg tipped, the chilled water flooding the pockets of the now submerged top of the ice figure. Water rushed through the cave that the young spiral was exploring. She slid across the ice as the room seemed to spin. The cool icy liquid hit her with such force, knocking the wind out her, and dragging her body across the waves. Her form was submerged, as the water's temperature lowered. The water froze, icy crystals shooting quickly across the water. Leaving the spiral to freeze within the block of ice. |
