Biography
Isaphy Healer of the Ruins "If I had a rose for every time I'd been told I'd never find the ruins...I'd have the largest garden on the continent." |
|
Isaphy longed to fly. She was well aware that she would never fly again--the healers of her old clan had made that clear--but the fact didn't seem to hit her until she spent days searching for something she wasn't even sure she would find. Her talons were stained an ugly shade of brown by the mud she constantly had to squelch through. Her scales were smeared with dirt. The Skydancer wished she could pause even for a moment to rest, to wash up, maybe even sleep for a bit. But that wouldn't be possible. Isaphy had grown up with the same stories every young hatchling of her line had. She knew better than anyone the stories of the great Marble Ruins, which had been founded by a pair of dragons--one of which bore the same name as she. She needed to find them. ...Were they even still alive? It would have been years upon years by now... How long would she have to search? Could her clipped wings even be repaired? The Skydancer had been just about everywhere by now, from the great monuments of Dragonhome, to the farthest reaches of the Southern Icefield. No matter who she asked, Isaphy couldn't find anything even close to the sprawling city found in the Marble Ruins. For such a big city, it certainly seemed to be quite a secret...but why? All she wanted to find..Could it be that the healers didn't exist at all? That the two great dragons were stories and nothing more? She loosed a breath and marched onward through the trees at the border of the Lightweaver's territory. The undergrowth pricked her scales, sharp enough to draw blood. Her wings instinctively tucked tighter around her body so as not to brush the rough bark and injure the membranes. Isaphy would have the strength to continue, just as her namesake did before her. She would find the ruins and the healers. She would learn from them, so that no dragon would be forced to be flightless, as she was. Isaphy would prove that the stories were true. |
