| Leaves flew past Umbris’s face as she trudged toward the cabin, carrying her belongings in a sack. She was still young, but she had made a decision to abandon her home and find a new hobby. She liked chemistry. She had dreams of becoming a great scientist one day, but Umbris was going to have to find a home first. She knocked on the doorbell. No answer. Perhaps it was abandoned. She tried the doorknob. It was locked. She sighed and turned around, when she spotted something blue. It was glowing. She reached out to touch it, but it disappeared. Confused, she had an urge to open the door again for some reason. Turning the knob, she managed to open the door. Wasn’t if locked before? She had a strange feeling about this place. Curious, she wandered inside. The same blue glow flew across the room. She followed it, feeling like it wanted to show her something. It turned out to be a room with a cauldron. A large puddle of blood sat in front of her. She shrieked and ran to the door, but it was locked again. The glow wandered toward her. She screamed and tried to run, but the cottage was too small. The blue glow touched her, and then she couldn’t move. She tried to scream again, but there was no sound. For years, she stood there, losing her sanity. Blue runes started to form unreadable words on her scales. After a whole sentence as written, she collapsed to the ground, but she was completely insane at this point. Legend says that everyone who wanders past the cabin turn into Umbris’s “science experiments”, and are never seen again. |
