It was during the middle of winter when they were born, the snowfall thick upon the ground as it hid all signs of life beneath a blanket of white. Still, there was celebration as the Crystalline Gala began and it was to the wonder of the festival that two Skydancers first opened their eyes.

Aesop hummed curiously as the first of the twins emerged from her egg, followed closely by her sister. He and his mate waited with anticipation for their children to manifest the unusual abilities characteristic of most half-faerie offspring born from their union. It was odd that these children seemed normal. At least at the beginning. It was not until the twins were separated that their abilities revealed themselves. . .

From the moment she was first separated from her twin sister, Bluebell has always been lucky. . . despite the atrocities that surround and seem to follow her wherever she goes. It is as if she siphons the luck from the living creatures around her and uses it as her own.

At first, she was unable to control these abilities and ended up hurting a great many drakes because of them. Devastated by the thought of stealing luck from others, Bluebell sought alternative outlets for her siphoning ability. Over the years, she’s found that by carrying a single primary feather from her sister, she is able to neutralize herself.

Despite the control that Bluebell has gained over her ability, she still has a bad track record and is rumored to bring misfortune to any clan willing to accept her.
