Biography

sword_1_by_rexcaliburr-dbedyub.png Heartseeker
Temper us in fire, and we grow stronger. When we suffer, we survive.

Bellows of pain and scraping of chains
The echoes they taunt and deceive me
Oceans of blame and rivers of shame
The Fury it never leaves me

Grief in the snow, the Winter of Woe
Has come here to judge and bereave me
Lock up the rage, it rattles the cage
The Fury it never leaves me

Always within, to lurk in the skin
The wounds ever aching so deeply
Try as I may to hide it away
The Fury it never leaves me

Long I’ve suffered the hunger
Long I’ve silenced the cry
Long I’ve fled from the thunder
To Ascend

Still I try to carry the pain
To keep it contained till the end
To carry the pain
To keep it contained till the end

Miracle of Sound - Ode to Fury

Information
Name // Heartseeker
-- Origin of name // Always aim for the heart, it's the fastest way to end the life of any living being. Never give it time to strike back, a lesson the young warrior learned the hard way.

Role // Warrior / Scout

Personality / Backstory // Heartseeker and his Night Warrior companions were captured by hostile dragons deep in the Southern Icefield. Young, inexperienced and cocky they thought nothing and no one would dare challenge them. They were wrong. In a cold moonless night, they were caught off guard and ambushed by a rogue bunch of dragons. Their foes were vicious creatures with matted fur and maliciously gleaming eyes. They didn’t stand a chance against the superior numbers of their enemies and most of Heartseeker’s companions fell in the onslaught. He and the few survivors looked on helplessly and horrified while the beasts devoured their fallen companions. Heartseeker would later say they died with honor, though those words seemed hollow to him they at least brought some comfort to their families. He never spoke of what he saw during that moonless night. Chained and gagged they were kept alive, but beaten brutally for any act of defiance. One by one, Heartseeker’s companions broke, giving in to hopelessness and despair. After weeks of torture and humiliation, Heartseeker had lost all but one of his former companions and he barely clung on to life himself. Anger and fury fueled his will to live. He promised to himself that his foes would pay for what they had done to him and his comrades.
When they were finally rescued by their Night Warrior brethren and other fighters of their Clan, Heartseeker was forever changed. Gone was the cocky jolly youth, his former friends almost didn’t recognize the violent dragon consumed by fury and rage that had come back from the cold. A thirst for revenge burned in him ever since although he knew that it could never be satisfied since most of his tormentors were killed and the ones that didn’t fled into the endless vastnesses of the Southern Icefield.
His training as a Night Warrior took a long time due to his lack of self-control and quick temper. Although he eventually became a fully fledged Night Warrior, he never took on another command, preferring to go on scouting missions on his own. Deep in his heart he blamed himself for the terrible fate he and his companions suffered. If he’d ever blunder into a trap again, nobody should suffer for it, only him.

Familiar // Brightwing
-- Role of familiar // The huge Dragonfly is a solitary and efficient hunter. It was chosen as a companion for Heartseeker by the Clan’s beastmaster for his scouting missions.

Mate // Truthspeaker
Most dragons prefer to stay far away from Heartseeker, and he encourages them to do so if necessary. But his vigorous efforts were futile with the young and fierce dragoness Truthspeaker. Unfazed by his unapproachable behavior she saw the lonely and hurting dragon behind his cold and hostile demeanor. Eventually he opened up to her, but being a descendant from an old warrior bloodline herself, Truthspeaker is more often than not involved in dangerous missions herself and Heartseeker is terrified of losing her.
