As a larva, life was pretty tough on me, let's be honest with ourselves. I've been on the run about as long as I can remember. The hivemind tries to kill me every chance they get, and uninformed dragons will take those opportunities just the same. For a while, it was just a cycle of getting kicked down and then picking myself up again, just for the same thing to happen over and over again. Really vicious, if you ask me.
Then... I don't know what changed. I was running, I was hiding, I screamed, and... I stopped being afraid. My carapace was cracked, my blood was slow, and I told the drones to stop. And... they did.
I've been able to hear it all my life. Since I was born, since I started running, I could hear it screaming in my mind. I was a liability. I was defective. I was to be terminated on sight. The one is all and the all are one. You know the drill.
It was like, all of a sudden, I realized what it was trying to say, and I realized how flawed it was, how little it mattered. And the more I thought about it, the more I understood. Soon, I saw the real truth of it. What was really happening. And as soon as that switch flipped, I started trying to tell others. They won't understand what I'm trying to say, really, but they listen to what I tell them. They stop when I tell them to. When I say jump, they don't bother asking how high, because they already know. They help me free others.
They can't hear it like I can. They don't know what I mean. They can't use its voice the way I learned how.
But hey, maybe that's for the best, huh? I never liked sharing.
