Ethereal is a near fanatic in his devotions to the Arcanist, but his outer passion hides an inner fear and disappointment.

For Ethereal, nothing is more important than his daily devotions to his deity. The day he became sworn in as a priest of the Arcanist was the highest pinnacle of his life... or so he told himself.

An any time, Ethereal is known to break out in impromptu sermons about how his god is the one that rules the others. His theory is that magic is the basis for everything. As such, nothing about Sornieth could have come about without magic. When it's pointed out that Arcanist was the youngest of the gods, Ethereal will patiently explain that magic was the creator of the other gods, and did not find a need for a body until much later after the others were created and the world had gone wrong. It was only then that Arcanist caused the reactor explosion that gave him a body and helped him start the world over.

Ethereal is very devout. He sends copious reports on just about anything to his deity... probably annoying the hell out of him. No one could doubt his belief... except himself. For Ethereal possesses not a drop of magic. For someone who professes to believe that his deity brought about everything, the spiral is deathly afraid that he is not a true arcane dragon because he cannot do even the simplest of spells.

So he continues to put up his rock-solid front to others... and inside wonders if he'll ever be found worthy.
