Before Greycloud hatched, his, unusually small, egg was abandoned in the Southern Icefields by his parents. All alone, without a nest, an egg would never survive the harsh colds of the IceWarden's domain for long. Thankfully his egg was discovered by a wandering mirror named Raina who took him back to her home, The Black Frost Inn.

Raina quickly showed the egg to her mate, and owner of the Black Frost Inn, Frostbite. The two of them had been trying to have a clutch of their own for years with no luck, so he quickly agreed to raise the hatchling within with her. So, they quickly set up a nest within the warm confines of the Inn. The two of them were incredibly excited about their new little one, often pondering what breed their new baby would be. Would it be a delicate Fae? A strong guardian? A mysterious nocturne? Who knew! All they knew is that they would love their new little one until the end of time and beyond, no matter what or who they were.

Whenhis hatching day finally came, both of his parents stuck by the egg all day. From the first crack in it's shell they were completely unmovable. The entire Inn was buzzing with excitement for the two owners, nobody could wait for the little one to finally hatch! Greycloud finally came out of his shell late at night, absolutely exhausted from his day long struggle! And his parents were completely in love with him.

Greycloud's mother pulled him close to her to keep him warm, whilst his father gathered some insects to help him build his strength up again. Frostbite felt his heart warm and in that moment the old warrior vowed to keep his little one safe for as long as he lived. His arrival was unexpected, but the small family had never been happier to find each other.

He grew up with expert warrior training and one of the best educations a dragon could ask for! He met so many colourful characters who came in and out of the inn, and as a result he learnt a lot from them! His set of skills made him one of best hunters in the Southern Icefields (which may have made him a bit egotistical). Everything seemed perfect, until she arrived that is.

She was the only other dragon he had met who looked like him and she called herself Poppy. Greycloud soon found that everything he could do, she could do too! She was an expert hunter, highly intelligent and extremely strong. For the first time in his life Greycloud felt his ego knocked. He went to the one dragon who he knew always gave the best advice... his mother.

Raina laughed and laughed and laughed when she first heard her son's dilemma (which he did not appreciate). When she finally composed herself she explained that it sounded like Greycloud was jealous. She suggested he tried to get to know her a bit before judging her. And so, he set off to spend some time with Poppy. The two of them went hunting together and he quickly discovered that the two of them shared a lot in common! She also had a lot to teach him about what type of dragon he was! Before they knew it, they had been talking for hours and not done much hunting! He thought it was strange. This morning he had woken up thinking she was his rival, and he finished the day thinking of her as a friend.
