Do you hear the voices of the trees? I do. I call them the voice of reason. I was born wild among the cerdae, somewhere deep in the Viridian Labryrinth. My mother and father both left before I could remember their voices. That is, if I ever had any at all...
And so, left to loneliness, I learned the language of nature. As said, the earth has music for those who listen. My favorite trees were the Epiphrons. They were ages old, named after the word epiphany. Some legends say that they're as old as creation; they were the epiphany of the Gladekeeper. I thought that if I became like them, I may create my own epiphany. And so I called myself by their name from then on.
Unfortunately, when your only family is the forest, their lifespan becomes yours. The flamecaller beckoned for my trees, and the trees answered. Hundreds of acres of the Labyrinth became a wasteland. I was left with only a clearing and the rare ancient Epiphron tree of my youth. Maybe it was time to meet life of my own breed. This was my true epiphany. And so began my little clan, the home to those who are drawn to both the forest and the flame.
