╭━ Info ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
Captain of the Gallium, Iva works as part of the Rescue faction. Her special bond with her airship lets her perform maneuvers that most other captains could only dream of. Abandoned on the edges of the Lightning Farm and found by Kodiak, Iva was brought back to Traveler's Rest, where Cobalt saved her. Iva accompanied them on their separate missions, and found herself wanting to pilot an airship. She put forward her idea to the First Five, who granted her permission to gather help and construct her ship. During the Gallium's construction, other Retrievers brought in more wrecked and abandoned androids. Iva brought them into her crew, giving them a place to feel wanted. Just after the Gallium's completion, Iva and her crew received news from Cobalt of a group of androids rebelling against the organization Project, and fighting for rights for androids and artificial beings everywhere. The First Five offered the Rest as allies to FL/GHT. Iva and her crew felt their skills and resources would be better used as part of FL/GHT than as part of the T.R.A.F, and so they left the city to undertake their Journey. Brash and quick to fight, Iva remains wary of newcomers until they prove themselves to her, with or without their knowledge. It's one of the reasons why she's not the diplomat.

Pain. Dull, throbbing pain that sharpened to pierce her metal hide, deep into her internal systems. That was all 15A could feel as she laid in the dust on the outskirts of the Lightning Farm. She tried to move, to get herself away from the open sky, so no one could see her dying.

Why had they done this? Sent her out to investigate rumors of an uprising among androids working under the Lightning Farm’s administration, then tricked her, attacked her, and left her to die? She had always performed the best out of her group, always the fastest, the fiercest fighter, the quickest to pick up details. What reason had there been to scrap her, and in such a crude manner, like a carcass after the hunt was done with it?

Metal groaned on metal as she curled her tail in, leaving a track of coolant behind. She hadn’t expected her end to be like this. To be frank, she hadn’t expected she’d have an end. She tried to laugh, but all that came out of her savaged throat was a metallic growl.

Wait. 15A lifted her head, letting her sensors take in the desert in front of her. Sand, lightning rods, thick cables snaking across the ground. What was that, swooping low over the ground? All the workers she had seen so far had flown high and fast, rushing to complete some job or another for the Stormcatcher. This dragon flew low and slow, scanning the wire-strewn ground for something. As they drew closer, 15A could make out the curving back spines of a Ridgeback. The dragon stopped, hovering in midair, examining the ground. They drew back their wings and dove to the ground, coming back up with a prey animal in their talons. The Ridgeback lifted their head, scanning the area for more prey, although 15A doubted anything would stick around after hearing the giant dragon slam into the ground like that.

The Ridgeback continued to scan the landscape, their gaze eventually coming to rest on 15A. Damn. She’d been discovered. That was always the most important rule her supervisors at Project always gave: never be discovered. Never be seen. 15A frantically tried to hide herself under a lightning rod, but the Ridgeback was closing in too fast. She’d just have to make one last stand, even as her life drained away.

15A hissed and flared her wings as much as she could at the huge Ridgeback, whose face was covered by a mask of branches and feathers.

“Hey, hey. No need to be like that,” the dragon said in a low voice, trying in vain to calm the android. “I’m here to help. Just calm down.”

15A snarled and snapped her jaws at the Ridgeback’s extended hand. “I don’t need your help,” she hissed. “Leave me here.”

The Ridgeback tilted her head. “But you’ll die,” she said. “Look how much fluid you’re leaking. And those gashes don’t look good, either.”

15A looked at her rent belly, wires spilling onto the sand, coated with black fluid. “It’s what I deserve. My unit deemed me weak, and so I must die.”

The Ridgeback sighed. “Well you know what, I can’t let that happen.” She reached forward, gently holding 15A’s head away from her as she lifted the android. “You’re coming with me, whether you like it or not.”

15A had no choice but to let the Ridgeback lift her up. Her reserves of power were draining quickly, and she no longer had the energy to fight. The Ridgeback held the android against her chest as she launched into the air, moving swiftly over the cables and canyons of the Shifting Expanse.

They flew for what seemed like days to 15A. The android was running on reserve power now, and her systems were shutting down one by one. Even as the Ridgeback sped through the clouds, her secondary motors shut down, causing her to go limp in the larger dragon’s arms. The Ridgeback quickly adjusted her grip, and folded her wings back into a steep dive.

15A wearily turned her head to see the landscape before them. Huge stone spires jutted out of the desert in a ring, covered in brightly-colored flags and dragons. The Ridgeback swooped towards the tallest spire, located in the center of the ring, touching down outside of a small pagoda on its roof.

“Hey, Lodestar,” she called to a blue Imperial sitting in the pagoda. “Is Cobalt here? I’ve got a bit of a situation.”

The Imperial leaned forward, staring at 15A. The android snapped her jaws weakly at him, and he drew back. “Yeah, she just got in. Should be in the hangar.” He tipped his head at 15A. “Uh, Kodiak, is that-”

The Ridgeback, Kodiak, cut him off by launching herself off the spire, diving towards the sea beyond the ring. 15A clung to her vest as the Ridgeback spun to face the steep cliffs and dove into a huge cave opening in its side.

“COBALT!” Kodiak roared as she skidded to a stop on the deck of a docked airship, her claws leaving skid marks on the deck. “GET OUT HERE!”

Another Ridgeback, presumably Cobalt, came out of a hatch in the deck, pushing a pair of goggles up onto her forehead. “Alright, alright. No need to shout.” she said, stopping at the sight of Kodiak’s skid marks. “Oh come on, Kody, we just waxed out here!”

Kodiak rushed up to Cobalt, showing her 15A. “No time for that, we’ve got a problem on our hands.”

Cobalt drew close to 15A, Lightning-blue eyes taking in every detail of the android, from the rent in her belly to the red circuitboard markings on her hide. She whistled softly. “Take her below, I’ll take care of her.”

Kodiak carried 15A into the belly of the airship, into a cluttered mechanic’s shop. Cobalt followed, clearing a pile of scrap metal off of a workbench, where Kodiak set 15A down.

Now, the android’s power reserves were at less than 10%. Her vision faded in and out as Cobalt bundled Kodiak out of the workshop, finally failing as Cobalt examined her wounds.

15A came to on that same workbench. She lifted her head, coming face to face with a white Spiral.

“Oh good, you’re awake,” the Spiral said as 15A flexed her wings. “Cobalt! She’s up!”

Cobalt came out from behind a thicket of wires, wiping grease off of her claws. “Hey, how are you feeling?” she asked. “Well enough to stand?”

15A nodded. “I think so,” she said, carefully sliding off the workbench, stumbling a little as she tested her legs.

“I hope you don’t mind me asking, but what in the Lightweaver’s name happened to you?” the Spiral asked. “Androids don’t get ripped up like that on accident.”

Cobalt glared at the Spiral. “Zircon, come on. It must have been traumatic for her. Be a little sensitive,” she scolded.

Zircon huffed and tapped her pen on the clipboard. “What’s your name?” she asked the android, who had started pacing the workshop, testing her new motors.

“My ID is 15A,” The android stopped, stretching her wings. “But that was given to me by Project, the ones who betrayed me. Perhaps it’s better I find a new name.”

Cobalt brushed the android’s wing with hers. “What do you think of Iva?” she asked. “It’s kind of like your old ID, but different, you know, because completely changing your name is hard to get used to….” she trailed off as the android hummed quietly, thinking over the proposition.

“Iva. I like it.” she said, giving Cobalt a soft smile.

“Well then. Welcome on board the Interstellar, Iva.”
