Biography

Dunsparce's Story

Name: Dunsparce

Pokemon: Dunsparce

Written By: Unknown

Dunsparce came from a mysterious clan of coatls nestled within the Windswept Plateau. Her namesake was that of a powerful and (dare we say) legendary banana coloured coatl with pure white wings and an aqua underbelly. Not much is known about her first clan life, for she hadn't stayed long. Instead, she'd left the nest with a purpose in mind. Like many of the hatchlings in the clan, she was blessed by the first Dunsparce but her blessing was a special one. She was destined to remain young forever. But instead of learning to dig tunnels like most of the hatchlings in her clan, she felt herself pulled towards someplace else. It was the wind, constantly blowing in the easterly direction whenever she poked her head out of her nest underground. The clan felt it too whenever she was around and so instead of curbing her curiousity, they encouraged her to follow. Follow she did and although she was small, she flew quickly during the day and dug even faster towards her destination at night. Then one day, she arrived at a clan in the Fishspine Reef led by a pink fae by the name of Rose. Rose warmly welcomed Dunsparce to the clan, for she had heard of her previous clan before. She offered a nest to Dunsparce among the hatchlings and gave her some food for the night. Although Dunsparce knew that this was where she was meant to be, the wind kept blowing. A few days later, Dunsparce's arrival had sparked conversation among the clan and soon, suddenly, everyone seemed to know her. But no matter who she talked to, the wind kept blowing. It was only until she saw an adult coatl with a cream coat and spearmint wings that the wind did stop. This coatl, there was something about her, she seemed so familiar. She seemed sad too and that look in her eye... She seemed lost. Although she was in the middle of a conversation with SilverStripes at this time, she had to excuse herself. Silverstripes followed her gaze and spoke softly in the coatl tongue:
"You should talk to her, the poor thing. She came to our clan from The Viridian Labryinth and she can't seem to speak. She's lovely once you get to know her and really loves to spend time with the hatchlings."
So Dunsparce made her way to the cream coloured coatl and upon seeing her, the coatl froze. Dunsparce could see the coatl's gaze change from surprise, to confusion, then to hope. Dunsparce regarded her with a look of sadness and spoke:
"You've travelled far it seems and you've found your clan, but why do you seem so lost?"
The coatl looked stunned and didn't speak. Dunsparce thought for a while about the way this coatl would gaze longingly at the playing hatchlings, how she'd seen her read so many books meant for younger dragons. How her eyes seemed to maintain the same innocence as any newborn. She thought about what SilverStripes had said, how this coatl couldn't speak to her clanmates, not even the coatls who spoke in the same tongue. Dunsparce wished in that moment that she could help the coatl...

... and the wind started to blow again. Upwards this time, so strong that she flew towards the adult coatl and lingered before her gaze. She knew then that she could fulfil this coatl's wish, for she had a blessing from the first Dunsparce, but perhaps that blessing was only hers to deliver. So she closed her eyes and leaned forward, brushing the coatl's nose. Immediately, the coatl started to shrink, smaller and smaller, until she plopped to the ground in the form of a hatchling. The coatl looked up, joy shining in her eyes and she chirped: "Rowlet, rowlet!", "th-tha-thank you!". The happiness and fulfilment that Dunsparce had felt in that moment was like nothing she'd ever felt before. She finally knew why the wind had brought her to this clan. Like the first Dunsparce, she would bring good fortune to this clan. She would grant their wishes and help all those who needed her. She wasn't just blessed. She was a blessing. Dunsparce opened her mouth to respond to the coatl's thanks but before she could, she felt the pull of the wind once more. And like she had done before, like she would do so many times more, with a pure heart filled with happiness, Dunsparce followed the wind.
