Truth. Justice. Order. That was their goal. They hoped to see truth prevail above all else; justice come for all those waiting for it; order seen in the imperfect world in which they live. How could a mortal like them achieve such a goal? Well, it required the assistance of a god, of course. The most powerful god that ever existed, for, without him, there would be nothing else. The Creator, Orestis. There were twelve halls within the mighty palace, for there were twelve gods to use them. On one wall, they knew, led the way to Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Light, and Dark; the other housed Death, Fertility, Weather, Knowledge, and Music. The hall to the Creator was further down, and on its way were the doors of Strings, Love, and War. On the opposite side of all of these halls and doors, there was the place of Messengers. That was where Jun resided, alongside many others, until their respective gods sent them down to the mortal realm. The bustling throughout the tiny area might’ve overwhelmed some—they had a specific person in mind when they considered it—but it didn’t bother them. They had been here longer than most others could boast about, long since losing track of the mortal years that passed since their arrival and all but forgetting the day they came here. It simply didn’t matter, with no sentiments left for the world that had allowed them to be so easily forgotten. “Jun! Express orders from the Creator!” Micah flew over to them, blinking each of his many eyes and shaking his three sets of wings when he landed. He gave them an envelope before continuing, “This is all the details for your next mission. He specifically wanted you to carry these out, but he said he’ll get another Messenger if you don’t want to. We all know you’re not fond of hurting little kids.” Then they flew off again. Curious, Jun opened up the envelope and read its contents carefully. It had been a while since they’d gone down to the mortal realm, and it seemed this would bring them into contact with an old friend of theirs. So they’d need to fight a Dream… it wasn’t like she could hurt them. Nothing could hurt them, especially not a child like her. |
