MIREHOUND
Mirehound

Mire was found in the Mire as Owl was training one day. She rose from the swamp and followed them back, and Owl, not caring, let her into the clan. The other dragons were nervous, and understandably so. It isn't every day that a mirehound joins the clan. Her habits are a bit offputting, like eating raw fish and sleeping outside, but the dragons of the clan accept her. If they can have a grumpy clan leader they can most certainly have a mysterious, swampy mirehound.

She never really provided a name. Her clanmates call her Mire or Hound, and she replies. It makes no difference to her what they call her. She is often gone from the clan, hunting by foot, as her wings are torn, and coming back late into the night. It isn't uncommon for her to be gone for days, as her hunger is so insatiable she has to eat a few days worth of food to be satisfied. She terrifies and fascinates her clanmates; they all fear and admire the stinger she has at the end of her tail. She would never use it on anyone of her clan, but they don't know that. She is wildly misunderstood and wishes she could become more normal, but alas, her instincts are too strong for that. She's come to terms with being abnormal and scary, but that doesn't stop her hope of being less... mirehound someday.

It's rare that she isn't off hunting somewhere, but when she isn't, she is watching her clanmates as they go about their daily lives. This hobby of hers is a bit off-putting, for sure, but she means nothing bad by it. She just enjoys watching them because unlike them, she isn't normal. She wishes she could be sometimes, but she's resigned herself to the fact that she'll just have to be content observing. From time to time a clanmate will come and talk to her, and she loves those rare moments. She is always eager to learn as much about her clanmates as she can, because compared to her, they are so very different. As much as she might hope to be less strung along by predatory instincts and more logical, it probably won't happen. But she's perfectly happy observing. (For now.)
