“Menace to society” is the phrase I would use to describe Mr. Monaghan. A powerful death mage with a flair for the dramatic, he generally spends what little time we give him outside containment doing one of two things; the first—and most common—is ranting and raving about how he’s going to drive us all to extinction. Not unlike our very own “lord of the apocalypse,” Riddik. The second is summoning beasts which greatly resemble the Shade; constructs of tar and yet-unidentified golden metal. The first few times he seemed interested in using them to escape the lab, but after numerous thwarted attempts, he has resorted to simply sitting in the observation yard “playing” with them.
There is one small problem that keeps me from dismissing him as harmless; Incident 14A, in which one of his “Beached Things”, as he calls the creatures he summons, ate one of my staff members. The resulting crater was a vile mess to clean up! We’re lucky it was one of the smaller ones; who knows what a large-scale explosion caused by such a mysterious entity would do?
Keep under cryogenic stasis; Release into yard for observation once per week.
-Sybil
[EDIT: There is an interesting caveat to subject “Higgs” which pertains to the creatures he can summon. They are agitated and seemingly even injured by the bodily fluid of subject “Sam”; namely his blood, which can be used to kill or incapacitate them. This does not change my decision to keep subject “Higgs” and his creatures in the lab under observation, but it is noteworthy. -Sybil]
