Mirage

With the generations expanding, the progeny growing numerous, there was a stirring echo in the darkness. Some say Naomi was gone forever, some say they knew she would return, and some even think she never left at all. There was evidence of her power in her children, but there was more to it than that. The war that stirred between some of the descendants drew out more power than it should have, waking things that should have stayed slumbering, called to souls long since lost to the ether.

As Naomi and Coal began to resurface, their unstable selves could not be fully contained within a singular form anymore. No, they had become either too powerful and unstable, or fragmented. The Distortion of them became one path for these souls to take, fragmented or otherwise, but the Reflection became another. One was a refraction, one was like a mirrored surface; both were a glimpse into the past, and a new path to the future.
