Myekatia lives within the bounds of the clan, but not really in it. Her home, or what others call it that, is made of rising pillars and ancient stones. The surrounding lakes are clear as glass and when the stars reflect on the water it looks like sky and land meet once again. It's beautiful... and otherworldly.
When she first settled in the clan's territory she was adored for her beauty and advice. Her wings flowed like the water surrounding her and her body was regal like the stones beneath her feet. The drapes she doused herself with resembled the stars reflected in the lakes. She was the image of her home and her home seemed to take on the form of the creature who inhabited it. Nobody bothered to recall what the place had looked like before.
They lined up for her advice. Often it was airy and unsubstantial, but it settled in their bones like prophecy. When you believe something will happen it often does. Lovers reunited and hatchlings became beacons of good fortune. When the weather turned awry it was because a frog and a toad burrowed next to each other.
Sometimes though her words echoed and the air hollowed out. Sometimes her body shifted and coiled, out of the corner of a visitors eye. Too slick. Too fast.
Unease settled gradually.
She seemed a creature of water and flow, but her eyes blazed and her grin widened sharply. For all that she had flowed she now pulsated and for all that she had rippled she now oozed. When her prophecies rang ominous, tendrils of fire shimmered beneath the lake.
Adoration turned to reverence and they burdened her with holiness and isolation. She became the Oracle.
This turned a bit uh... long. I haven't written anything in ages and I want to gradually pick it up again. I hope this isn't too clunkyor god save me cringe ;-;.
The fire details are loosely based on her eyes and the water theme on her appearance. I wanted to include the wartoad, because I love this familiar, but I didn't get to it.
