Goldflower

A light rain has began to fall, you round the corner, hoping to get to your tempory shelter the town has provided. However, you bump into someone

You stare up at what you thought you'd never see. A beast only spoke of in legends. It looks at you with its two heads, its many eyes focusing intently. An Emporer. Before you can react and flee, the creature speaks, its voice multiple at once. But what it says is not what you expect.

"Im sorrryyyyyy" says the beast. "We diidddnt seee youu..." one head turns away in shame, the other looks at you worried. It speaks again.

"Heeree," it mutters, and puts one of its twisted, mangled wings over you. "For the raiiinnn... rain coldd..." It looks nervous. "cold like the affterrr, th-th-the afffterrr..."

Poor thing, it looks scared, but snaps out of it quickly.

"Where'ss your... hommme?" You point, and the creature walks you to it, and stalks away.

Long ago, an egg was to hatch twins. But it was dying. Desperate to save it, the parents poured their magic into it anyway, unknowingly resurrecting the hatchlings after the fusion process had begun. When they saw what had become of their children, they were told to get rid of it by their diety. Instead of leaving it to die, they dropped it outside a town rumored to take care of all creatures.

Goldflower is very kind. Everyone was hesitant with them as they grew, wondering if they'd take on the nature the species is known for, but they didn't. They learned to talk, and learned kindness.

They sometimes flash back to what it was before their rebirth. They seem very afraid of what it was, seemingly hating the cold.

They like helping others, and can keep threats away from the town just by appearing to them, though they don't understand why.
