role or trait | role or trait The sandstone shifted and shivered with life, and yet, it could not to stir itself awake. Something distant vibrated the thoughts within its core. The rumbling voice of an ancient deity eased the stone's worries, 'Not yet, little one. Your time will come...' With that, the beast settled back into into the shifting desert sands it called its birthplace. Several years passed before the beast would truly awaken, with one simple task that echoed in his mind: 'Go to her.' The beast found it could swim smoothly through the rubble, like a fish through water, and found this to be the fastest, and least tiring, form of travel in its rough and tired state. For days it lazily traveled across the Shifting Expanse, listening to the crackle of storms in the distance and the pounding and clanking of that strange machinery on the horizon. 'It's no wonder I awoke early, with all this constant noise,' he thought to himself, 'They've got no sense of respect for their neighbors, it would seem.'

Within the halls of the unguarded tomb stood a sculpture with an appearance similar to his own. There was no mistaking that this was the female he'd been in search of. He bowed respectfully, and took a vigilant, silent guard at the open doorway, as she began her first shedding from her stony shell. This is how their story begins...
