IGNIS
Clan Healer
Healing is the most true act of love.

I want to respect Calypso, but I will never understand healing with the absence of love. How can one see the gift of life in such a calloused way? I feel that if I don't care for a dragon, there is no use in healing their body. I am on a quest to bring less pain to their soul. I want to spare them the mental pain that comes with the chronic and the physical.

Calypso, however, seems to prioritize the vessel over its contents. If a body is healed, it is no longer her responsibility to ensure the safety of the mind that lies underneath. Without love, there is no health. The mind will destroy the body once again, and once again, it will come back to me. It is easiest to love because it makes my job much easier.

My greatest journey began with Lowell. She came to me, battered and bruised, torn down to the bone. She was large and could clobber me unconscious within an instant, but as a result of constant physical battery she remained skittish. She had been to Calypso and spoken with Beneatha, but their lack of empathy caused her to run before her healing had begun.

I soothed her wounds, calming her down as I went. Even Sun had given up on her. Sun, who believed love could heal even the most broken, believed maybe Lowell was destined to be a loner for the rest of her days. But I knew Lowell wasn't aggressive or dangerous. She was simply afraid to not be loved. Of course, the rest is history. She healed well and continues her story in the Onyx Peaks.

I am now entrusted with the highest profile cases, often rejected by many healers before and sent to me as an appellate case, of sorts...

Believing somebody is not too far gone is the highest form of healing.
