Mariana was out hunting one day, unaware that that day she would be the one getting hunted. After getting trapped by the Serthis poachers, she was separated from her pack and put in a cage to be shipped away and sold to dragon fighting rings.

She was going to be bait for Sinar to fight but luckily Saltkey ended up disrupting the entire poaching operation and enabling them all to escape.
