Memento mori (Latin: "remember that you have to die") is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits. Memento mori has been an important part of ascetic disciplines as a means of perfecting the character by cultivating detachment and other virtues, and by turning the attention towards the immortality of the soul and the afterlife. This curse would be traced down his lineage. All Moros' children were destined to die, like any dragon. But they would be given a second chance. It was up to the children if they would accept the bargain.

Moscoe's father died the day he was born, and his mother left. By all rights that meant he should've been raised an orphan, but he wasn't, as his father had come back from beyond the veil of death. Strix always wore his burn scars proudly around his children, and was always upbeat when teaching he and his siblings about the family curse.

"It'll hurt terribly when it happens," he said, smiling warmly, "But that will pass. And then you get to go on living."

Now Moscoe was grown, and less certain than his father had been. What would the future hold?

Moscoe lived for awhile in the V clan. A strange place, he witnessed leadership shift from Virgil to King. He watched Selene loose power, he even witnessed some of the Nymph Guild be put to sleep. Eventually, King insisted in forcing Moscoe to leave. Moscoe looked upon his children. Felix smiled. 'Do not fear. I will ensure the family keeps their lore" Felix intended to do so, but he may have forgotten. He prayed he hadn't.

King allowed Moscoe to stay for another nest. One more chance to let the lineage continue.
