Lovely has always felt bad about her looks. Her colours were all over the place and the orange stains on her body upset her every time she looked into a mirroring surface.
She thought if she didn't accept herself, how could others?
When Relfaadrii took her in and left her in the care of the Spirals of the Order, Lovely hadn't had a name yet. She had always called herself "Messy" in her head, or "Ugly" on days she was feeling extra spiteful towards her appearance.
Until one of the Spirals, one which most of the time was only visible as a colourful blur caused by her movement speed, picked the little Spiral hatchling up, looked her in the big, poison green eyes and said: "My, what a lovely girl you are!!"
For the first time, Lovely had felt good about herself, and that was the day Aoife had given her her name.
