Biography
Clan Role: Undecided
Personality: Cautious, Passive Aggressive, Practical
Relatives:
Progeny: None
-Raised by harpies on the Shifting Expanse, and thought she was one of them for the longest time. Then she grew to twice their size and didn't stop growing, and that's when her "waaaait a minute-" realization occurred
-Youngest in her family so far, but not by much
-The mask was a custom-made gift from her mother. Scratch it and you'll be served as the main dish for a harpy feast
-Moved to Ice with her sisters as part of a long-term scouting mission
-Back home, she would use her massive wings to create air currents for the flock, making for easier take-offs.
-Also helped them fight off any creature that invaded their territory, dragons included
-The feathers she wears came from her defeated foes
-Mostly doesn't trust dragons, but she has slowly opened up to certain ones, such as Whiss and Regis
"Mama! We found a humongous seed! Look!" The small, young harpy held up the seed-like orb for Clarice to see. It was almost as big as she was, and lifting it was clearly a struggle.
"How fascinat-- Mika!! Put that down! That is no seed; it's a dragon egg!" Panic surged through Clarice. There was no way that egg didn't have dragons searching for it. "Where did you get that?"
Confused, Mika furrowed her brow and exchanged glances with her sister, who just shrugged. "Leigh found it in our flock's territory, so it can't be a dragon egg. They would never come through here with so many of us around. Besides, it's not all zappy like it should be."
"Dragon eggs look different when they're laid in different regions, dear. And this one is from the..." Clarice paused as the oddity of finding an abandoned Nature egg finally clicked in her brain. Her expression shifted from worry to wonder, and she took the 'seed' from Mika to inspect it. "It's from the Viridian Labyrinth... How did it get all the way here?"
Leigh piped up in reply. "I dunno, but can we keep it? I've never seen a baby dragon!"
"Yeah, me neither! Please, Mama?"
"You know how dangerous that would be," Clarice said while she recalled her encounters with those gargantuan, scaled monsters, which she had barely escaped with her life. Whatever came out of this egg, if it grew up to be half as big as she imagined, there would be trouble.
Unless...
"We could raise it ourselves! And it would learn to be nice to harpies," Leigh suggested, verbalizing her mother's thoughts.
The decision couldn't be made so carelessly though. With a sigh, Clarice told her daughters, "Five days. During that time, I will keep a lookout for any dragons getting near our turf. But if this egg's parents don't show themselves, then--"
"Then we keep it?!" both girls asked with overflowing excitement.
"Yes... We will keep it."
"Yes!"
It was probably too late to regret it, but Clarice was already starting to regret it.
