40 years ago, there was a sailors ship. It carried nothing of interest, its cargo limited to dried rations and some rough iron ore. It was by all accounts meant to be an easy journey, or at least the bogsneak sailor aboard thought so. But he was wrong.

Twelve days into their journey, the ship was attacked by a group of vicious pirates seeking a bounty of treasure. When they found none, their rage pushed them to sink the cargo ship with its crew still aboard and trapped in the basement. None survived, and the pirates left, the ship already slipping from their minds.

That night aboard the pirate ship, a thick fog rolled in from places unknown. The seas grew perfectly still. From the darkness and the fog crept the ghostly sailors from the cargo ship. Their revenge was swift. Soon the pirate ship joined the others lingering on the ocean floor, and the ghosts aboard departed to places unknown, their unholy task finished.

But not Jewk. Jewk remained, for reasons unknown to him or any others, watching his brothers in arms fade into the heavens or below. He roams the seas of Sornieth now, sinking ships that seek to cause others harm, and occasionally haunting those that don't.
