"Remember our song."

With the revival of the Banescales, that phrase, and with it her life's purpose, finally made sense.
From the time she had been a small hatchling, it had been her passion, and her duty, to learn the Endless Song. An ancient tune, older than written record, its origins lost to time except in the form of the song itself. It was a melody without variation, unchanging, forever growing longer. Though she didn't know the words, she had been told, over and over again, the song's purpose. It was a record of all history. Telling the story of the world, even before the birth of dragonkind, and written in a proto-draconic that eventually evolved into an early version of the Coatl language.

Stories told that the song had first been sung by a god. However, no story could ever agree on which god was the song's original author. Some said the Earthshaker, or Lightweaver. Others, the Arcanist or Tidelord. Within the Great Houses of Sornieth, it was claimed that the song was written by Eye-of-the-Storm, the ancient oracle. Others argued that it clearly shared the poetic style and melody of many early works from Lord Aŭtoro, the god-ancestor of House Gardisto.
